Andrew Shyu, MD

Dr. Andrew Shyu (pronounced shoe) is a board-certified ophthalmologist who grew up in Saratoga, California. He completed undergraduate studies at UCLA and received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Shyu then pursued his Ophthalmology Residency at Temple University. He is a comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist who specializes in small incision and laser assisted cataract surgery, including advanced technology lens implants. Dr. Shyu also performs refractive surgery, including CustomVue LASIK, PRK, ICL, as well as refractive lens exchange.

Dr. Shyu is fluent in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. He enjoys watching basketball and soccer, and plays tennis. He enjoys hiking with his wife, and teaching new tricks to his pet corgi, Doug.

Nadine Hermann, OD

Dr. Hermann earned her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Visual Sciences from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2012. She completed her residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services of New Jersey and New York, gaining advanced experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions.

With a career in eye care that began in 1999, Dr. Hermann also holds a New Jersey Optician’s License and certifications from the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. Her experience includes comprehensive eye care, contact lens fitting, and the management of conditions such as dry eye disease, Meibomian gland dysfunction, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts.

Dr. Hermann takes the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and develop individualized treatment plans that support their vision, eye health, and quality of life.

Outside the office, Dr. Hermann enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and pet Guinea Pigs. She loves traveling and outdoor adventures, including cycling, running, tennis, gardening, and exploring new activities with her son.

Stanley Strauss, OD

Dr. Stanley Strauss was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He specializes in dispensing glasses and contacts, as well as seeing patients for routine medical examinations. He spent five years of active duty in the Navy as a Naval Officer and clinical optometrist, and ten years in the Naval Reserves. He also spent 20 years in the Air National Guard. He came to Delaware in 1985, and has worked at Eye Center of Delaware and Chester County Opticians before starting his own practice in 1993. He then joined Brandywine Eye Center in 2023. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife or going to the gym. He enjoys cheering for all and any Philadelphia sports teams.
